Select where you want to call, choose landline or mobile, and set the call duration. The calculator shows the real cost across four common methods: browser-based VoIP (Kinvo), app-based services (Viber Out), traditional mobile carriers, and prepaid calling cards. All Kinvo rates are live and include the $0.05 connection fee charged only when the call is answered.
Browser-based VoIP services like Kinvo use WebRTC to route calls over the internet, bypassing expensive carrier infrastructure. This means rates from $0.01/min to popular destinations like the US and UK — compared to $0.15 to $3.00/min on traditional carrier plans. There is no app to download, no subscription, and credits never expire.
Connection fees
Some services charge $0.09 to $0.99 per call just to connect, regardless of duration. Kinvo charges $0.05 and only when the call is answered.
Credit expiration
Viber Out credits expire after 6 months. Calling cards expire in 30 to 90 days. Kinvo credits never expire.
Rounding
Some carriers bill in 60-second increments. A 61-second call costs the same as 120 seconds. Kinvo bills per second after the first minute.
Monthly fees
Carrier international add-ons cost $10 to $15/month on top of per-minute charges. Kinvo has no monthly fee.
Carrier rates vary by provider and plan. We use conservative estimates based on published rates from major US, UK, and EU carriers. Your actual carrier rate may be higher or lower. Kinvo rates are exact.
No. Kinvo works entirely in your browser using WebRTC. Just sign up, add credits, and start calling from any device with a microphone.
A small fee charged only when the recipient answers. If nobody picks up, you pay nothing. This covers the cost of connecting to the telephone network.
